Does anyone know what this is?
I will be honest, I haven’t really tried to find out yet. I just saw it yesterday. By the end of today I will know all about it and it will be a part of my life but this morning I don’t know what it is.
I can’t tell you very much about it. It is yellow, it is pretty and it wants to be my friend. That’s all I know.
I am going to take Fizz up to the sett and pick up the Badger Cam and then I will go and get some more pictures and find out all about it, if you don’t tell me first.

If it were blue and here in the U.S. I would say its a type of wild Chickory..:-)
Now Chicory is interesting, maybe related Thanks Ed 🙂
The wife is a bit of an expert so I called her in on this one. Initially she was sure she knew; then reserved judgement; then out came a fist full of books and she remains baffled. She has asked me to ask you to get back to us when you find out!
Thanks for trying Mike. We will know before the day is out, I have just got to have a quick look at 109 Badger vids. Watch out for my next post, I have just seen something beautiful. 🙂
Thanks, it does look like a Hawkweed, that would be cool. Also known as King Devil or The Devil’s Paintbrush. Wikipedia says there are a few species that look very similar so I might have to give this one to the experts. Thanks for your comment 🙂
We have orange hawkweed so that was my first thought but I really think it is something else 🙂
Thanks Crooked Tracks. You are absolutely right it is not a Hawkweed 🙂

Thank you all for your efforts. I have been to see the experts. It is called Nipplewort. It is called that because the buds look just like nipples, I bet The Jolly Green Giant would have got that straight away 🙂
I would like to do a post about it but when I went to look at it today, when it was quite overcast, the flowers were tightly shut. I will get some more pictures and learn about it and Nipplewort will flower forever more on this blog. 🙂
