Itsy Bitsy Spider.
She lay in wait and she pounced on me!
Fortunately this is not a Black Widow, this is Misumena vatia (Part Two) and she didn’t really eat me.
I know that people have phobias about spiders but you are pretty safe around them. Hardly any UK spiders have jaws powerful enough to pierce human skin. I would like to tell you that there were none but the Natural History Museum has a little list of case histories.
