Starting with Fizz and for anyone who didn’t see it already this is Fizz proving that dogs do actually say, “Bow, Wow,Wow.”
The little bird is still here.
I am getting way ahead of myself. I am thinking that he might bring the young to me for food just as he will show them the bird feeders in the garden.
Maybe when it is warmer and I can leave the door open he will learn to come into the kitchen and have breakfast with me.
Shut up, Colin đŸ™‚
The other little thing that I have got today is Primroses.
Don’t worry about the flowers we will have plenty of them. Last year the mice ate most of the flowers and I might have a go at filming them in the act. Pesky little animals.
Today I am looking at the buds, these are really special.
One last little thing that is bringing me a lot of pleasure, the Long-tailed Tits.
Last year they visited the garden but they didn’t stay here, these have been here every day for the last six weeks and obviously now I am hoping that they will stay and nest here.
I couldn’t photograph them today because the light was just too good. At this time of year the sun comes up behind the feeder and I can only see silhouettes and by the time it moves around it has dropped too low in the sky. Cloudy days are better for birds until the summer.
I made a video.
That’s it, no wildflower post because I didn’t have time today, I was too busy walking the dog đŸ™‚
You were walking the dog or the dog was walking you?

Thank you Andrew đŸ™‚ We’ll see who’s in charge next week. It’s not as “open and shut” as she thinks.

He said:
“I saw you! I saw you spend time with that scarlet bird! HOW. COULD. YOU!?”
. . . or something like that. Also, it proves dogs are colorblind.

Thank you Emilio đŸ™‚ Now if I could train the Robin to get along with Fizz, that would be something.

That little bird will be sitting on your hand longer soon, and if she would bring the babies, oh wow. Next week, good luck with having Fizz left in charge. You know how she gets sometimes……….

Thank you Sarasin đŸ™‚ The bird is playing games with me this morning, it almost came to me while I was standing up, flitting around but couldn’t quite get up the courage.
Let’s be clear about who’s in charge next week, Fizz isn’t preparing the meals, I am, doesn’t that make me in charge? Hmm…That is a moot point.

We’ll see how next week goes…..Fizz seems to think she’ll be in charge. đŸ™‚

Lovely robin. And the video about LTTs was really good too.

Thank you John đŸ™‚ This year I am hoping to add both the LTTs and the Bullfinches to the list of garden nesters. I can’t think of two more lovely birds to have around. We have already got Goldfinches.

Swirled buds awaiting the spring sun. The slowed down video of the tits feeding was marvelous! Tech assists us in really seeing the world. That sassy girl Fizz loves bossing you around, doesn’t she? đŸ˜‰

Love your Robin! And, of course, I love Fizz. My Baxter says “Arf, Arf”.

Thank you Peggy đŸ™‚ Of course he does and some dogs say “Ruff, Ruff.” I am not sure that I have ever actually heard one say “Bow, Wow, Wow” before đŸ™‚

Thank you Emily đŸ™‚ It is nice to get out of the house when the sun is shining but I don’t always appreciate my walks as much as I should.

I had never noticed the Primrose buds with twisted ends – like sweet wrappers but more beautiful. I enjoyed the Long-tailed Tit video and I am so pleased the Robin is sitting on your hand now. It must make your heart leap.

Thank you Clare đŸ™‚ I hadn’t noticed them before this year but when I look back at my old photographs I see that they have always been there, but they used to be invisible. It is so easy to look at something and just not see it.
The Robin is lovely and it is good to feel his weight on my hand. At first I thought that he was weightless but you have to feel carefully. He has a little weight đŸ™‚

I do envy your relationship with the robin. How delightful. My ancient scruffy dog pal/master, Rosie, is not a fan of little birds either. Although now that she is getting deaf and blind she woofs at them much less. Lovely video of the bird feeding.

Thank you Jane đŸ™‚ Fizz spend all day outdoors and most of that time underneath the bird feeder, she doesn’t normally react to the birds at all. She doesn’t even mind the Bantams that wander around the farmyard or the ducks on the pond.

Thank you Ibeth đŸ™‚ I am confused. My mental picture of Louisiana is of a tropical paradise, all Alligators and swamps and big stinging insects. Well, I hope that spring comes to you soon anyway đŸ™‚

The post today is filled with wonder! I loved the robin photos but the LTTS video was breathtaking! The bird, in flight, below the feeder was truly beautiful.
I was intrigued by the twirls on the flower buds. It is a lovely flower, and edible as we learned earlier. So is the pansy. What a wonderful life….we learn every day….If we but open our minds.

Thank you Ettel đŸ™‚ The countryside is just beginning to fill with wonder. It will be so nice to step outside and discover new things after the quiet lifelessness of winter. There is so much that I have never, ever seen out there, I am really looking forward to it.
