Be careful not to confuse this wildflower with a starchy banana although it is edible and you won’t come to any harm if you do make that mistake.
This is Hoary Plantain, Plantago media. A close relative of the familiar Ribwort Plantain, this one is bigger, even prettier and it is pink.
