Just a few days ago, with a little bit of help from my friends (Thank you Mike) and a bit of expert confirmation we identified this lovely flower as Musk-mallow, Malva moschata. Cool 🙂
And today they are back in the news because…..
I have found a whole bunch of white ones.
There is a beautiful meadow that leads up to a disused stone quarry and it is around this quarry that I am finding white flowers.
I did wonder if the quarry had anything to do with the colour variants but, with this one at least, I am told that white is as common as pink, so no big mystery.
I do like a flower with a nice soft centre, don’t you?
Very nice centre ! It seems sophisticated ! I like it.

Mallows are on my ‘plant wish list’ when I finally settle on dirt again. Marvelous shots.
