I think that we have a new brood on the way. There is a lot of sitting on the nest going on.
A bird has taken to sitting just outside of my window.
She chatters away and she sings really loudly… at four o’clock in the morning.
Of course I sleep with my windows wide open, you would do too. It is a beautiful summer sound. Most of the other birds have given up on the dawn chorus but the Swallows are as noisy as ever. I have been trying to record her but I am getting a lot of engine noise from my camera and I am not happy with the results yet.
Ha Ha! She is chattering away as I write this 🙂
It looks like it is going to be a nice day, lots of blue sky.

Yes they are Barn Swallows. They are nesting all around the farm but there is one pair just bellow my window. They have already raised one brood and I think that they are working on their second. I have heard that first brood chicks will assist their parents in feeding the second brood and I am keen to see if this happens. 🙂

She is really beautiful. Fingers crossed that she is about to have another brood, she is certainly showing all the signs that she is 🙂

The birds have been acting very strangely. I don’t think the parents will let the first brood back on the nest and as a result they are spending a lot of time flying in circles right outside my front door. It is fantastic to watch as they are flashing inches in front of my face and the sun is on their wings. I just wish that I could follow them with my camera. 🙂
