This post may be a little bit nutty.
Do you remember these beautiful little flowers that decorated the Hazel tree at the beginning of the year?
Well they have gone completely nuts!
Stark raving bonkers!
Hazel nuts are the most fantastic thing. If you are going to forage anything then forage for Hazel nuts. They are extremely good for you. They are horrendously expensive and they keep well.
Also some of my animals absolutely love them.
I have been watching the Hazel trees for weeks looking for signs of fruit and not finding anything and today I am finding trees loaded with them.
The best things in life are free, you just have to know the right tree.

Red Squirrels? You are so lucky 🙂 but this is farmland and there are no Squirrels in the fields, just little Wood Mice. The nuts are all mine 🙂

Ah the wood mice, they are one of my very favourite creatures, we’re so lucky to have them. They are regular visitors to our window ledge feeding on the sunflower seeds that we put out daily. I think a wood-mouse post is looming!

Hey i will look forward to your Wood Mouse post. I think that my landlord would draw the line at me feeding the Wood Mice because we have a farm shop and occasional nibblers. (I feed them in secret) 🙂
